Sirha Lyon: five days, six recipes
and a thousand tastings for hundreds of visitors
It was five days full of new encounters and valuable exchanges that we have just spent at the Sirha in Lyon. This very important event for the catering and hospitality sector, which this year was attended by almost 210,000 food professionals, gave us the opportunity to tell a large international audience about the quality and sustainability that characterise the European rice supply chain.
To the hundreds of people who passed by our stand, we presented the values and objectives of our project, promoting conscious consumption of rice produced in Europe. And to do this we did not limit ourselves to words, we wanted to offer our guests a tasting experience that succeeded in highlighting one of the aspects that makes Made in EU rice truly unique: its versatility.
During the show-cooking sessions, our chef proposed creative dishes and some reinterpretations of traditional Italian, Portuguese and French recipes, such as saffron Carnaroli risotto with lemon zest and fresh ricotta cheese, black garlic Carnaroli risotto with chilli pepper and Garda olive oil, Carolino rice with hen and her innards, Carolino rice with the scent of the sea, round rice with vegetables and herbs, and milk round rice with almonds and white chocolate.
Three tasting sessions per day for a total of one thousand tastings: an unmissable opportunity to discover the uniqueness of individual national productions.
Although the fair has come to an end, the sustainability journey continues! Keep following us on our social pages @Sustainableeurice so you don’t miss out on the many activities we have planned for 2023.
